GUT ANECDOTES
ALBERTE AGERSKOV, PAULA PAROLE, PAULA ZVANE
Curated by Maddalena Iodice
Guts Anecdotes is an invitation to cross the microtextures of the skin, to embrace our porosity, our vulnerability and dive deep within ourselves to reconnect with the primal power residing in our viscera, in the amalgamation of stasis and rupture that constitute us all. To embrace our gut-wrenching interstices is a political act. It is an act of decolonization, freeing ourselves from all-encompassing ideas that claim to represent everyone and everything, and therefore rob words of their meaning and bodies of their situated histories.
Primordial, poetic, sensuous, uncanny, the artworks presented in the show articulate the ambiguous, connect to our visceral muscle memory and ultimately speak to our primal selves.
