NESTING /ˈnɛstɪŋ/
is a behaviour referring to an instinct or urge to build nests to protect eggs, offspring, or oneself from danger
Although we all have different multidisciplinary practices, we discovered our shared interest in the body and existentialism as a philosophical theory, which "emphasises the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent determining their own development through acts of the will."
In Nesting, we explore relationships with belonging in this world and our bodies, simultaneously disrupting indoctrinated concepts by societal conventions.
Nesting is a group show during the open studios by MA Fine Art CSM artists: Paula Zvane, Alp, Vesper, Angel and Paula Parole.
Paula (right wall) uses her practice in a psychoanalytical way to untangle her experiences and bias as a woman and artist to discuss her emotions on questions about gender, sexism, womanhood, and relationships.
